Image Text

Learn how to make some text with an image on it! All it takes is some easy steps to follow and you got yourself something nice. After you finished reading this, you know one more thing of Photoshop and it’s always nice to know more.Continue reading to view the tutorial and hit me up on the forums if your stuck anywhere and I’ll be glad to help. Have fun.

Step 1
Open up a new blank document. I chose the size 300x100px but you can work with a 1000x1000px document, doesn’t matter. As long as you can fit your text onto it, go for it.

So slap on some text onto your document. Choose a big blocky text so that the image is more visible when you put it on. I used “reservoir grunge” at 40px.

Step 2
Next grab the image, I will be using this one. (click for full view)

Put it anywhere over the text so that nothing should be visible right now.

Take your mouse, put it in between the text layer and the image layer, hold alt (mouse icon changes to an arrow and 2 circles) click it, then an arrow should appear beside the image layer.
Or
go to Layer >> Create Clipping Mask (ALT + CTRL + G)

Results so far

Note: you can move around the image layer while in the clipping mask so you can see what other parts look like while showing up in the text area.

Step 3
Now pop up the blending options of the text layer. (right click text layer)

You can use my settings or use a somewhat similar one.

Inner Shadow: #dbdbdb

Bevel: #ffffff

Gradient: Default gradient

Stroke gradient: ffffff – dadada

And your done, results
