Just another text effect tutorial out there on the web, I hope you learn something from this tutorial. 🙂 Continue Reading to read the rest of the tutorial.

Well have fun following this.

Step 1
Create a new document, any size, plain white. Work on another thing if you want, but for this tutorial I will be using a blank new document.

Step 2
Now I make some text across the document, it can be long, short or medium. Whatever you please. Using the font “reservoir grunge” (download at many font sites – google it) size 100 and regular type. Hex color I am using right now is #33b4c4 Color doesn’t matter right now, can always change later. Anyways.

Step 3

Now right click your text layer and go to blending options. You can choose to use my settings or somewhat close or make it up as you go.

Step 4

Now go to blending options again, and give it a stroke of around 6.

Now duplicate your text layer 2 times (total of 3)

Now go to blending options for layer #1

Step 6

Hold CTRL + click one of the text layer. Marching ants should start crawling around the text (not stroked area) Grab the paint bucket and fill it with white

Grab the Elliptical Marquee Tool and make a cut so it looks something like this

but can look like anything you like.

Lower the opacity of the white layer to 6% and erase parts that look not blended enough.
